Esprit For Sale 1990

We bought this 1990 Esprit SE 12 years ago and have put roughly 1000 miles a year on it.
The car is actually my wife’s as she wanted a newer Lotus than our old ones.
She loves it but she had rotator cuff surgery and can’t handle the manual steering around town.
Plus she wants an Evora.  Hard to argue when your wife wants a new Lotus.

The car is red with dove grey interior and grey pin stripes.
It was a special order Columbus, Ohio car in Ohio State colors.
I just cleaned the leather and it looks great.
The only two small wear spots are one on each side of the center console, possibly  where knees rub on it.

The only work I’ve done is to rebuild the clutch master and slave cylinders and replace the red plastic clutch line with braided steel.
I replaced the plain wheel centers with Lotus emblem versions used in the UK.
The boot has the UK only tool kit that mounts on top of the battery hold down.
The top lifts out.  The air conditioning has been serviced and changed to R134 and some fittings tightened.
The only problem I know of is the cassette function in the radio doesn’t work.
The power antenna works perfect.  It has a built in radar detector and a fire extinguisher.

Up till 2015’s LOG the car has been bullet proof.
At LOG the ECU broke and had to be replaced with a re-manufactured unit.
The Lotus settings were moved to the new unit.
We had to leave the car and take a rental car home and after it was repaired it was trucked back to us.
Before we left for the trip we had the dealer check it over and they gave it a clean bill of health.
The timing belt was replaced a few years ago and it has new tires front and back.
I replaced the plastic links ($10 a side) in each headlight motor as they wear out after 10 years or so and disintegrate.
The oil was changed before we drove to LOG.

The engine is as clean as it was when we bought it and I’ve never cleaned it.
It has 280HP and is very quick.
We have never put it on a track as I race an SCCA car (MG Midget) so none of our Lotus ever see tracks.
It comes with the driver’s manual and a workshop and parts book on CD.
A car cover also is included.
Also there is a spare factory stock muffler in very good condition.

We are looking for $22K for it.
